What one of my customers had to say:
“Your illustration style is so unique and spot on – I simply love everything” – Jane G. – Cumming GA

The Allman Brothers Band was formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1969 by brothers Gregg and Duane Allman along with Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jai Johanny Johanson. The group blended blues, rock, jazz, country, and improvisation into a sound that helped define Southern rock.

Known for their twin-guitar attack and extended live jams, the band built a devoted following through constant touring. Their breakthrough came with the live album At Fillmore East in 1971, which is widely regarded as one of the greatest live albums ever recorded.

The band’s best-known songs include “Whipping Post,” “Midnight Rider,” “Melissa,” “Ramblin’ Man,” “Blue Sky,” and “Statesboro Blues.” Despite the early deaths of Duane Allman in 1971 and Berry Oakley in 1972, the group continued recording and touring for decades.

The Allman Brothers Band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Their blend of blues, improvisation, and Southern roots music influenced countless rock, jam-band, and Americana artists.

The band played its final concert at New York’s Beacon Theatre on October 28, 2014, ending a remarkable 45-year run.
