Born George Guy on July 30, 1936, in Lettsworth, Louisiana, Buddy Guy is one of the most influential blues guitarists and singers of all time, renowned for his fiery playing, soulful vocals, and electrifying live performances. Moving to Chicago in the late 1950s, Guy became a key figure in the city’s blues scene, performing alongside legends like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Junior Wells.
Known for his aggressive guitar style, dynamic stage presence, and emotional intensity, Guy helped shape the sound of modern blues and inspired generations of rock and blues musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Hits like Stone Crazy, Damn Right, I’ve Got the Blues, and Feels Like Rain showcase his mastery of both raw power and subtle nuance.
