What one of my customers had to say:
“Hard to believe one guy can actually run this website and have time to make all the art – do you ever sleep?” – Curtis C. – Lake Charles LA

Gary Clark Jr.: Modern Blues-Rock Powerhouse

Born Gary Lee Clark Jr. on February 15, 1984, in Austin, Texas, Gary Clark Jr. is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter who fuses blues, rock, soul, and R&B into a contemporary sound that honors tradition while pushing boundaries. Known for his fiery guitar solos, soulful vocals, and genre-blending style, Clark has emerged as one of the most dynamic blues artists of his generation.

Clark began playing guitar as a child and quickly gained attention on Austin’s live music scene. His breakthrough album, Blak and Blu (2012), showcased his versatility, blending blues riffs, funk grooves, and rock intensity. Subsequent works, including The Story of Sonny Boy Slim (2015) and This Land (2019), cemented his reputation as a socially conscious artist unafraid to tackle issues like race and inequality through music.

A Grammy Award winner and acclaimed live performer, Clark has shared the stage with legends such as Eric Clapton, B.B. King, and the Rolling Stones. His electrifying performances and innovative guitar work continue to inspire fans and fellow musicians alike.

Gary Clark Jr. represents a new generation of blues artists, bridging the gap between traditional roots and modern innovation with skill, passion, and authenticity.

Grego’s notes: “Living in Austin since 1990, I had many chances to see and chat with Gary – as well as a couple of his band mates – all super nice guys and fantastic musicians. I still see his Uncle W.C. Clark play happy hours shows from time to time – he wrote cold shot as well as being a great bandleader for a couple years here in the ATX”
