What one of my customers had to say:
“Being a huge Lightnin Hopkins fan, it’s easy to see why I spend so much of my pay at Mojohand.com” – Chris L. Houston, TX
Mance Lipscomb: Texas Bluesman and Songster
Mance Lipscomb (born April 9, 1895 – January 30, 1976) was an American blues singer, guitarist, and songster from Navasota, Texas. A lifelong farmer who played music at local gatherings for decades, Lipscomb was “discovered” during the 1960s folk and blues revival. His debut album, Texas Songster and Sharecropper (1960), revealed a vast repertoire of blues, ballads, rags, and spirituals.
Known for his intricate fingerpicking and warm storytelling, Lipscomb represented a direct link to the early traditions of African American folk music. His gentle wisdom and authentic style made him a beloved figure on the folk festival circuit and an enduring influence on roots musicians.
