Dixon penned classics like “Hoochie Coochie Man,” “Little Red Rooster,” and “Spoonful,” which were recorded by legends such as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Etta James. Beyond songwriting, he worked as a producer and arranger at Chess Records, helping define the electric blues era. Known for his deep voice, sharp wit, and musical versatility, Dixon’s contributions laid the foundation for blues, rock, and R&B, earning him a lasting legacy as one of music’s greatest architects.
