The Toadies: Alt-Rock Rebels from Texas
Formed in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1989, The Toadies are best known for their gritty alternative rock sound and raw, energetic performances. The band broke into mainstream success with their 1994 album “Rubberneck”, featuring the hit single “Possum Kingdom,” which became an alt-rock anthem of the ’90s. With frontman Vaden Todd Lewis at the helm, The Toadies combined dark, twisted lyrics with heavy guitar riffs, blending punk, grunge, and post-hardcore influences. Despite lineup changes and industry challenges, they’ve maintained a devoted fanbase and remain a key part of Texas rock history.
