What one of my customers had to say:
“You have such a big selection of Blues concert posters, one day I’ll have them all!” – Terrance F. – Miami Beach

B.B. King: The King of the Blues

Born Riley B. King on September 16, 1925, in Itta Bena, Mississippi, B.B. King rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most revered figures in American music. With his expressive voice, elegant phrasing, and the unmistakable cry of his guitar—affectionately named Lucille—King transformed the blues into a universal language of feeling and soul.

After moving to Memphis in the late 1940s, King began his career on Beale Street and over radio station WDIA, where his talent and charisma quickly earned him the nickname “Blues Boy.” His breakthrough hits, including Three O’Clock Blues, Sweet Little Angel, and The Thrill Is Gone, showcased his ability to fuse Delta blues with urban sophistication, bridging generations and genres.

Touring relentlessly—often playing hundreds of shows a year—King became a global ambassador for the blues, influencing legends from Eric Clapton to Jimi Hendrix. His warm humility and deep humanity made him as beloved offstage as on, a mentor and gentleman whose music spoke of hardship, hope, and heart.

B.B. King passed away on May 14, 2015, leaving behind a towering legacy: more than half a century of performances that brought the blues from juke joints to the world’s grandest stages, and a reminder that “the thrill” of his music will never truly be gone.
